Estimated delivery: May 8 – May 9

Legacy woven. Boldly worn.

This meticulously crafted couture jacket is a 3–4 month journey from loom to wardrobe. Each piece begins in the historic weaving village of Bonwire, Ghana—home of the renowned Kente Museum—where master artisans weave every thread by hand, exactly to specification. Tailoring is thoughtfully completed in Kumasi under the direct supervision of Dr. Solomon Marfo Ayesu, artist and lecturer in the Department of Fashion Design and Textile Studies at the Faculty of Creative Arts and Technology, Kumasi Technical University (KsTU). Dr. Ayesu ensures precision, intentionality, and enduring quality in every finished piece, inspired by his deep research into Ghanaian culture, tradition, and sustainable textile craftsmanship.

We’ve partnered directly with Anita and her husband, Dr. Danso—trusted friends we've known for over 15 years, since our early days working together at Tafo Government Hospital in Kumasi. Anita, a trained nurse, coordinates local weaving operations and collaborates closely with Dr. Ayesu and the talented students at Kumasi Technical University. Dr. Danso, a respected community leader and medical professional, has helped award over 150 medical scholarships in the region, ensuring each purchase directly supports essential local healthcare initiatives.

For now, the jackets are shown on the designer’s sewing form. We’ll be photographing the project with Black models & creators with the same intentionality, depth, and care that goes into making every jacket.

Every jacket sold helps sustain:
  • Vital medical supplies and oxygen during critical shortages.
  • Artisan training and supplies for students at Kumasi Technical University, Department of Fashion Design and Textile Studies.
  • Visibility, fair compensation, and ongoing support for talented Ghanaian creatives.
