Magnetic Poetry was established in 1993 by Dave Kapell who had writer's block when trying to compose song lyrics. He wrote down words in pieces of paper and then stuck them on magnets to stop them from moving around. When his friends who came over, started moving the words around to make write poems, he started making poetry kits and selling them at a local craft fair. Magnetic Poetry complies with the strict provisions of the American Specification for Toy Safety (ASTM F963-03), the European Standard for Toys (EN 71), and the current requirements of the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008.
