Born out of our founder and retail veteran Alex's desire for quality classic clothes for her children - specifically, piped pajamas for her babies, Paper Cape has grown to include a variety of natural fiber styles. We're best known for our sophisticated styles for littles because who doesn't love a baby or toddler in "grown up" clothes? Paper Cape founder Alex Golden is a proud grand millennial whose preference for classic style over ephemeral trends stems from her New England childhood. Alex's concern about fast fashion's impact on the environment made her determined to build a brand around the concept of buying high-quality clothes and handing them down. Paper Cape styles are designed to be timeless, easy to wear and care for, and made to last and be handed down. Each garment has a message for the wearer on the label, "please hand me down". As one of four sisters, some of Alex's most treasured clothes from childhood were hand me downs. Paper Cape is a celebration of the continuity that hand me downs create between siblings and generations.
