The acid mantle is a thin, acidic film on your skin's surface comprised of lipids and amino acids. Think of it as an invisible shield. It's a vital part of barrier function and acts as your skin's first line of defense against pollutants. Harsh, stripping cleansers can throw the acid mantle out of whack, leading to moisture loss, reduced barrier function, and a diminished microbiome.
How does The MANTLE avoid stripping the skin?
Instead of using disruptive solubilizers that pull natural oils from the skin, The MANTLE utilizes gentle emulsifiers to lift debris without disturbing oil balance. Lipoamino acid biovectors act as cutaneous purifiers, optimizing skin atmosphere and natural homeostasis.
Can I leave The MANTLE on for a bit to give my skin extra nourishment?
Yes! While it's a co-wash, The MANTLE can also be used as a skin-priming mask. You can leave it on for up to 20 minutes before rinsing for skin that's especially primed and nourished.
Should I use The MANTLE in the morning, as well as at night?
Yes. Co-wash in the morning to awaken your skin and prep for product application. At night, it does the work of a double cleanse, melting away the day’s dirt, sweat, sunscreen, waterproof makeup, and pollutants.
How long will the product last me?
It should last 4-6 weeks, if used twice a day.
How to use
01. Massage into dry or damp skin in a circular motion for 30-60 seconds.
02. Add water as it emulsifies into a cleansing milk.
03. Splash more water to rinse.
04. Wipe away excess makeup with a muslin cloth.
